DSS Configurations
Different Configurations for Different Users
The DSS is available as a stand-alone, one workstation solution or as a network-based solution with additional workstations. Typical additional workstations are configured as additional patient geometry workspaces, for example for the import of CT data and the digitizing of structures (contours), or as additional plan review stations.
A DSS is typically configured with the option for the import of CT data. A digitizer or flatbed scanner can be added for digitizing patient slice information from films.
- Single Workstation Configuration, with or without block cutter extension
- 2 Workstation Configuration, with or without block cutter extension at the 2nd planning station. The 2nd workstation can be also configured as a patient geometry preparation workspace, or specifically as a plan evaluation or oncologist workspace.
- 3 Workstation Configuration, with or without block cutter extension at the 3rd planning station. The 2nd and 3rd workstation can be configured as a patient geometry preparation workspaces, or specifically as a plan evaluation or oncologist workspaces.
- All systems can be configured with an additional CT Interface Server to allow the convenient import of CT images over the network parallel to treatment planning and review work being performed at the other workstations.
- A separate CT Interface Server allows data transfer to the tps network from the CT or hospital network without requiring that the entire tps network be connected to the CT or hospital network. For better performance and increased security.
