The New High Resolution Waterphantom Series
More Technical Precision
The new high resolution waterphantom series allows detector positioning with a resolution of 0.1mm, the highest resolution available today. The scannng mechanism provides ample scanning volume and an unobstructed access to the entire water surface, which allows easy positioning of even the largest electron cone and is especially designed for best possible handling of linear accelerators with low isocentric height. The low profile scanning mechanism remains submerged during use allowing cones or collimator jaws to be brought right to the water surface.
The new high resolution waterphantoms are entirely software controlled and do not require a separate external controller box. For setup, the waterphantom center and the field center are determined via software. System leveling and perpendicularity are likewise verified via software.
In addition to the 9850 "universal" size, high resolution waterphantoms are available in both XL and compact formats, including the new tomotherapy phantom.
The High Resolution Series At a Glance:
- Controls the probe movement with precision stepping motors (positioning resolution of 0.1mm)
- Potentiometers provide constant monitoring of probe position for true positioning certainty
- Designed to eliminate scatter distortion in measurements due to metal in probe vicinity and scanning volume
- Utilizes the water surface to level the scanning mechanism. Eliminates errors or misleading setup methods associated with leveling tools being mounted on the frame or housing.

- Allows 3-axis simultaneous positioning for diagonal or circular scan patterns
- Provides 0.1 mm mechanical positioning resolution in 3 axes for absolute positioning
- Frame of scanning mechanism supported on both sides (non-cantilever design)
- Utilizes cable driven scanning mechanism
- Provides a single, thin and double shielded control cable connection between the waterphantom and the control area
- Provides multiple probe holders, including a vertical probe holder
