Image-based Dosimetry
Ideal Tools for QA and Treatment Verification
Image-based dosimetry from Multidata offers a flexible system for scanning from all kinds of film and film-similar image formats. The optional imRTD extension software allows the comparison of additional types of data matrices, such as a calculated treatment plan matrix or a fluence or dose map.
RTD Imaging Workflow
Data Acquisition with RTD Imaging
For physical films, a scanner is used to first acquire a digital image of the film. An image already in a digital format can be likewise imported into the system, typically on the basis of DICOM RT or using DICOM SC. Image formats such as .JPG and .TIF are supported as well. Once the image is on screen, a calibration routine may be applied and then the appropriate acquisition plan is selected or created as needed. The acquisition plan is similar to an empty template which describes where and how data points are to be collected. The RTD Imaging application samples the data at the specified data points and creates a new scan file with the measured data organized as specificied in the acquisition plan. The new measured data file, now called a study, may be processed and analysized using the extensive RTD scan data processing and evaluation tools. Studies can be edited, combined, re-normalized, and exported to other applications such as to MS Excel.
Data Analysis with imRTD
The imRTD software extension adds additional analysis functions and allows the import and comparison of other data matrices.
While RTD Imaging allows the comparison of data sets acquired with the RTD scanning application, imRTD supports additional data set types such as calculated treatment plan matrices or data sets measured with other systems from other manufacturers. The import of published reference data sets is possible, or the exchange of datasets between different clinics or within a users group for discussion and comparison. The import and analysis of datasets based on DICOM RT is standard and included in the imRTD product.
Additional Comparison Functions
- Percentage Dose Difference (%)
- Plan/Film Dosemap Subtraction
- Distance to Agreement (DTA)
- Gamma Analysis
- Extracted Profile Analysis
